Description

This will hopefully be my last winter piece. I'm so ready for spring. I guess this portrait portrays how cold I am. This photomanipulation was made using half my own resources.

Hello!

This is a wonderful piece of artwork and I thought I'd drop by to give you some critique, as a fellow portrait artist myself :3

Firstly, I'd like to say how wonderful and free the hair looks! Often, it can look like the hair is simply 'stuck' or pasted onto the head, but in the case of this portrait it looks absolutely beautiful. The wisps of white hair really add to the snowy feel of the overall portrait. Secondly, the furs around her shoulders are really effective and give that true 'wintery' feel.

Something I'd like to point out though, is perhaps the use of more darker shades and the refinement of cheekbone structure I think if you added more mid-tones and dark tones into both her hair and skin you'd create a further 3D Realism like feel to the image. Also, the lips are very blended into the skin and this was something I struggled with myself for a long time. Try to find a brush that's a mid range between hard and soft for the lips, and meld them into the skin by the use of highlights on the top lip and low-lights (which you have) below the bottom lip.

I hope this helps! Wonderful artwork, good job!
