I spent two hours on this journal originally, and for whatever reason, when I submitted it the journal disappeared. That is extremely disheartening! I had nice things to say about all the art and artists, and now I've got to go back and do it all again. :

So, this feature is for the following project:

This December we are encouraging you to feature your fellow deviants with a journal of artworks that you would feature as a Daily Deviation (commonly called "DD") if you could. So let's embrace the Holiday Season and spread some good cheer by joining in and featuring our community!
How does it work?
Create and publish a journal feature of images that you would choose for a Daily Deviation Feature from your preferred gallery. (i.e. photomanipulators and/or people who enjoy photomanipulations would feature from the photomanipulation gallery)When your journal feature is live, link it back to the appropriate Community Volunteer's Community Feature Project Journal in the comments area. (i.e. If you choose to feature photomanipulations, then you would need to link to my journal.)

But, I don't want that to take away from the beautiful art I will feature below. Instead of commenting on each individual piece, let me just say my idea behind choosing the best. It has to be at least one of these things, but preferably more: must be well made, must speak to me on some emotional level, must make me smile, or must spark my imagination. Each of these are well made and then speak to in some other way. Enjoy!

Christmas is coming...

Hello, all my friends and watchers! I can hardly believe there are over 350 of you now!

So to celebrate this exciting milestone along with the wonderful Christmas season, I have some new free stock for you. I have used both in several of my own manips, and I know they will come in handy for you. Make sure you finish scrolling all the way to the bottom for your gifts.

I have some personal news to share. I will have Gastric Bypass surgery on Dec. 21st. So, the diet they have me on right now is not completely agreeing with me and is making me sick. However, it's only for pre-surgery prep. I first want to know if anyone here is interested is following my journey either via blog or via youtube? And I'm also letting you know because I don't know how active I'll be for the next couple of months. I definitely have a few contests I want to participate in for Christmas, but we'll just have to see.

Happy Thanksgiving

I haven't made anything special for Thanksgiving this year since I've been concentrating on Christmas art. But I absolutely love Autumn and Thanksgiving!!! So I have scoured DA for the past few days and found some fun, interesting, and beautiful pieces that I would like to share with you. And I ask that instead of thanking me for featuring you or instead of commenting on the feature, instead, make a comment below on something you are thankful for. And I will start here...

I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who came to this earth and died and rose again in order that the cost be paid for my sin debt.
I am thankful for my husband, my son, and my daughter. They bring unending joy to my life.
I am thankful for my parents who have loved me unconditionally my entire life.
I am thankful that I could fill a thousand pages writing what I am thankful for and never be finished!

It's time for unity

Today I felt personally attacked because I don't agree with certain things. I was called uneducated, ignorant, and unAmerican because I supported our new President elect.

I'm going to make a few statements, and then I will have a bit of a feature. First of all, I have an Accounting Degree and almost another full degree in Sign Language Interpreting. In these classes, I studied a lot about culture, civilizations, and American history. I am not uneducated. I follow modern politics closely on both the liberal media side and among conservative voters.
I am not bigoted or ignorant. I don't hate anyone because of the color of their skin. In fact, I am a white mother with two adopted black children. I'm not bragging because of that. Just the opposite. Most of you probably didn't even know that until now. I am a Christian, but friends with people associated with all religions.
I am a firm patriotic American. I love this country with my whole heart. Maybe my idea of what America should be differs from your view. But guess what, that is okay. We are allowed to have this difference of opinion. It's part of the democratic process. And it's part of our First Ammendment right to free speech.

I am not a Hillary Clinton supporter, and I'm sorry if that upsets you. This has been a hard and devisive campaign, but let's take Hillary's example and not criticize further, but let's come together and work together as Americans whether we like Donald Trump or not. Personally, he is not my favorite person in the world, but I felt his policies were better than Clinton's.

So, if I have offended you with this, instead of attacking me, please just unfriend me. I have no intention of unfriending any of you no matter who you support. I have no intention of putting you down even if I don't believe the same as you. So please, show me the same respect.

***Update: Since I originally sent out this newsletter, the person who I felt had wronged me made a valid point. I went on her page first. It wasn't to start something, though that's what it turned into. I apologized, and we have since made amends. This is what we need to do. We need to mend fences and build relationships and friendships. We already have too few in this world!
