God's Best

A starry night long, long ago
the sinful earth was blessed.
When God the Father came below,
and gave the world his best.

The angels there proclaimed Christ's birth
to shepherds in the fields.
They sang aloud the Saviors worth,
and all His love revealed.

Wise men lavished him with treasures
to give honor and praise.
Gifts just for the young King's pleasures.
Mary kept them always.

Through the years God's gift was offered
to sinful fallen man.
Jesus blood was what he proffered*;
fulfillment of God's plan.
